The Surgical Ward with the Subdivision of Vascular Surgery and the Subdivision of Oncological Chorurgy has an "emergency room" on a daily basis.

About 1,500 operations are performed annually in the department. These are operations performed using classical and laparoscopic methods, including gallbladder removal, appendicitis surgery, part of colon cancer surgery. The department is accredited to conduct medical specializations in the field of general surgery, oncological surgery and vascular surgery.

The department uses modern diagnostic methods in the field of radiology (ultrasound, mammography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging) and nuclear medicine (marking sentinel lymph nodes).

Patients with oncological diseases are treated comprehensively, in cooperation with oncologists and radiotherapists, treatment is planned during oncological consultations under the DILO card.

Karda Nursing specializes in surgical nursing, as well as undergraduate and graduate studies. She broadens and updates her knowledge by taking part in specialist and qualification courses as well as thematic conferences.

The services provided by the Department include in particular diagnostics and treatment of:

vascular operations related to atherosclerosis and aneurysms in the abdominal aorta and arteries of the extremities,
oncological surgery operations related to tumors of the pancreas, stomach, colon, bile ducts, gallbladder, breasts, melanomas and thyroid neoplasms,
performing arteriovenous fistulas for dialysis,
implanting a port for chemotherapy administration,
core biopsy of tumors,
implantation of markers in breast cancers before chemotherapy,
abdominal hernias and inguinal hernias,
endoscopic procedures, both diagnostic and therapeutic, including: gastroscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic control of gastrointestinal bleeding, endoscopic removal of polyps from the stomach and large intestine and ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopanceratography), endoscopic sphincterotomies, removal of concretions from the biliary tract and biliary prosthesis and esophagus prosthesis.

Scheduling admission to the department takes place on business days, usually from 10 to 12 - please report to the secretariat of the branch.

After hospital treatment, the patients remain under the outpatient care of doctors who performed surgeries.
