The department conducts surgical and conservative treatment of the consequences of motor organ injuries in adults and, in cooperation with the Children's Surgery Department, of injuries in children (limbs).

The department uses modern operational techniques under the control of the RTG-TV video track; performs arthroscopy, ACL reconstructive arthroscopy, hip joint endoprosthesis, knee joint endoprosthesis, radial head endoprosthesis, small joints.

 The department has its own operating room only for orthopedic procedures.

 The Department employs orthopedic doctors and doctors who are during the specialization in orthopedics. The medical team cooperates with educated nursing staff who are also during the specialization in surgical nursing or are in the process of specializing. Some of the nurses have obtained bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing.

 For our patients and their families, the nurse runs a health education program on the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers.

 The Department also employs a physiotherapist to guide patients directly through the perioperative period and to provide knowledge and skills enabling them to achieve independence in functioning after orthopedic procedures.

 The services provided by the department include in particular diagnostics and treatment of: 

 modern surgical techniques of birth defects (hip joints, feet, etc.),

 arthroscopy of the knee joints,

 implantation of endoprostheses of the hip joint, knee joint, radial head, small joints,

 implantation of metaphyses,

 intramedullary nailing.
