About the ward
The Department of Pediatric Surgery admits approximately 1,200 patients a year. The ward provides elective and emergency treatment. The department is on duty 24/7.
Patients are referred to the hospital from the area of the Wielkopolskie voivodeship and the neighboring areas of the Zachodniopomorskie and Pomorskie voivodeships.
The services provided by the Department include in particular diagnostics and treatment of:
planned surgical treatment,
emergency treatment: head injuries, soft tissue injuries, osteoarticular injuries (fractures and sprains), injuries of the chest and abdominal cavity, inflammation of the integuments, abdominal cavity,
laparoscopic procedures in the abdominal cavity: treatment of the abdominal testicle, varicocele, inguinal hernia, appendix, gallbladder stones,
osteoarticular procedures are performed thanks to cooperation with the Department of Motor Organ Traumatology.
For the patients
Information for Patients: Patients from 1 to 18 years of age are accepted. Patients under 1 year of age are referred to reference centers in Poznań, Bydgoszcz and Szczecin. The elective treatment of some congenital defects of the integument, head and neck, abdominal cavity and limbs is performed.
Eligibility for elective treatment is carried out in:
pediatric surgery clinic (NZPS PULS, Wojska Polskiego 49, Registration phone: 67 353 36 60, ext. 5),
or in the ward - after the patient reports with a referral (on Mondays, Wednesdays from 11am to 1pm) after the patient has been examined by the ward doctor.
Scheduled receptions are carried out at the Scheduled Reception Points - main entrance - on level (-1), from 9.00 am to 10.00 am.
Emergency admissions are carried out in the Hospital Emergency Department.
It is possible for the caregiver to stay with the patient during treatment in the hospital. The guardian's stay is free of charge. It is possible to purchase 24-hour food for the patient's caregiver.
