The Hospital Emergency Department provides health care services consisting in initial diagnostics and undertaking treatment to the extent necessary to stabilize the vital functions of people who are in a state of sudden health threat, transported by: medical rescue teams, Medical Air Rescue, ambulance transport teams or self-reporting teams.

 The department has a 24/7 landing pad located at such a distance that it is possible to receive people who are in a state of sudden health risk without the use of specialized means of sanitary transport.

 

The following teams are included in the organizational structure of the HED:

 Medical Rescue Team S (MRT - specialist),

 two Medical Emergency Teams P (MRT - basic),

 two transport units.

   

Information for Patients: The waiting time for the provision of health services in the Hospital Emergency Department depends on the patient's health condition and not on the order in which they reported. The order in which the services are provided is determined by the preliminary health assessment.

People transported to or reporting to HED on their own are covered by the Triage category system. As a result of the triage, the patient receives one of five categories where:

red color - immediate help. Patient admitted out of sequence,

orange - very urgent help. Waiting time 10 minutes,

yellow - urgent help. Waiting time up to 60 minutes,

green color - deferred aid. Waiting time up to 120 minutes,

blue - waiting. Waiting time up to 240 minutes.

Services are provided from Monday to Friday from 18:00 to 8:00 the next day and on Saturdays, Sundays and other public holidays from 8:00 to 8:00 the next day.
