The Department of Nuclear Medicine performs in vivo radioisotope tests for: molecular imaging of selected organs and systems, functional tests and evaluation of selected metabolic processes, receptor systems and transport mechanisms, as well as molecular imaging and characteristics of the activity and dynamics of selected disease processes in order to define their personalized treatment.
The Nuclear Medicine Department, equipped with the hybrid SPECT / CT Optima NM / CT 640 device from GE Medical Systems, performs diagnostic procedures with the use of scintigraphic acquisition techniques: planar using open sources of ionizing radiation applied to patients in the form of radiopharmaceuticals (free radioactive isotopes or pharmaceuticals labeled with them). (static and dynamic), tomographic (SPECT) and hybrid (SPECT / CT) using specialized software for quantification of standard uptake values (SUV).

The scope of services provided by the Department of Nuclear Medicine includes in particular diagnostic procedures:
whole body scintigraphy using Tc-99m - Tektrotyd; purpose of the procedure: diagnosis of lesions in which somatostatin receptors are overexpressed: gastro-entero-pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (Gastro-entero-pancreatic neurendocrine neoplasms; GEP-NEN); pituitary adenomas; tumors originating in the sympathetic nervous system (phaeochromocytoma, paraganglioma, neuroblastoma, ganglioneurinoma); medullary thyroid cancer; moreover, the test may also be potentially useful in the case of other tumors expressing or overexpressing somatostatin receptors in various intensities,
whole body scintigraphy using Tc-99m - Scintimun Granulocyte; purpose of the procedure: diagnosis of lesions with an infectious (inflammatory) basis,
skeletal system scintigraphy using Tc-99m - PoltechMDP; purpose of the procedure: functional diagnostics of the skeletal system,
lymphoscintigraphy with Tc-99m - Nanocis; Purpose of the procedure: searching for “sentinel” nodes (Sentinel Lymph Node; SLN), a procedure consisting in scintigraphic assessment of lymph flow and labeling the "sentinel" node (SLN) with radiopharmaceuticals in order to precisely assess its location using the hybrid SPECT / CT technique and then , in cooperation with the Oncological Surgery team, intraoperative detection using a scintillation probe for collection for histopathological evaluation,
lymphoscintigraphy with Tc-99m - Nanocis; purpose of the procedure: diagnostics of lymphoedema in the upper and lower extremities,
lung scintigraphy with Tc-99m - Pulmocis; purpose of the procedure: diagnosis of pulmonary perfusion; a hybrid SPECT / CT test involving scintigraphic assessment of the blood supply to the pulmonary parenchyma is used in the diagnosis of pulmonary embolism,
thyroid scintigraphy using Tc-99m with the evaluation of technetium uptake; purpose of the procedure: functional diagnostics of the thyroid gland,
parathyroid scintigraphy using Tc-99m - PoltechMIBI; purpose of the procedure: functional diagnosis of the parathyroid glands,
dynamic kidney scintigraphy using Tc-99m - PoltechDTPA; purpose of the procedure: functional diagnosis of the kidneys,
gastrointestinal scintigraphy with Tc-99m; Purpose of the procedure: to search for Meckel's diverticulum.
For the patients
In the event of circumstances excluding or limiting the scope of the diagnostic procedure to be applied individually to a patient, despite the fact that it is generally justified, a nuclear medicine specialist qualifying the patient for the examination may decide to disqualify and refrain from performing it or change the scope of its application.

In order to register by phone, prepare the required information: patient data (name, surname, PESEL, home address, telephone number), active 4-digit e-referral access code.
Traditional referral for a paper-based examination, without an access code, for verification, qualification and registration purposes, should be delivered in person or through an authorized person directly to the Nuclear Medicine Department from Monday to Friday, from 13:00 to 14:30 or sent by post, mandatory with attaching a contact telephone number to the patient, to the following address:
