The Urology and Urological Oncology Department deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the urinary system and diseases of male genital organs. The department performs endoscopic and surgical procedures.

Under the agreement with the National Health Fund, urological procedures are performed in the treatment of neoplastic diseases of the urinary system, urolithiasis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, urinary incontinence, urethral stricture and other urinary tract ailments.

 

The scope of surgical procedures includes, among others: 

 cystectomy (removal of the bladder) with the formation of a uretero-cutaneous fistula,

 cystectomy with the formation of a substitute intestinal bladder,

 radical prostatectomy (removal of the prostate due to cancer) by laparoscopy,

 radical prostatectomy with the open method,

 nephrectomy (removal of the kidney) by laparoscopy,

 open nephrectomy.

  

 

Endoscopic treatments: 

 transurethral electroresection of bladder cancer (TUR-BT),

 transurethral electroresection of prostate adenoma (TURP),

 internal urethrotomy (urethral stricture incision),

 URSL (crushing ureteral stones with a laser),

 PCNL (endoscopic crushing of kidney stones),

 crushing bladder stones (lithotripsy),

 catheterization of the ureters,

 transrectal prostate biopsy.

  

  Surgical treatments: 

 NSS (nephron sparing surgery) - removal of the tumor itself, leaving the kidney,

 renal cyst fenestration by laparoscopy,

 adenomectomy (surgery for an enlarged prostate),

 surgical treatment of malformations of the urinary system,

 laparoscopic varicocele surgery,

 testicular hydrocele surgery,

 orchidectomy - removal of the testicle,

 penile amputation due to cancer

 surgeries for urinary incontinence in women.

 

Comprehensive treatment of neoplastic diseases of the urinary system is carried out in cooperation with the Chemotherapy Department of the Specialist Hospital in Piła and the Radiotherapy Department of the Greater Poland Cancer Center in Poznań - branch in Piła.

Patients are admitted under the Diagnostics and Treatment of Oncology - DILO.

Qualifications for treatment in the urology department of patients with a referral to the hospital: Monday - Friday from 12:00 to 13:00, Thursday from 9:00 to 10:00.
